Wayne W. "Woody" Hayes Papers 1920-2005 1979-1987

The Wayne W. "Woody" Hayes Papers consist of approximately seventy cubic feet of materials dating from the 1920s to 1987, though the bulk of the collection dates from 1979 to 1987. The papers document the activities and accomplishments of Woody Hayes, the head football coach of The Ohio State University from 1951 to 1978. However, most of the materials in the collection document his life after he left the football program in late December 1978. The collection contains a variety of manuscript materials, an extensive number of artifacts, and some audiovisual materials. Photographs originally located within the collection were transferred to the OSU Photo Archives.
